Creating 3 Different Fitness Spaces in Your Home
Aug 29, 2019Ready to start getting fit? Well you can- from the comfort of your own home. Workouts like pilates, yoga and barre which could easily cost a fortune for a class can be done easily from your home! Read on for how to create a space perfect for fitness in your home.
Creating a Yoga Space
Yogis can agree- the gym probably isn’t the best place for yoga and meditation practice. This is why creating an in-home studio can be the best solution. You don’t have to run on anyone else’s schedule, and can practice whenever you want.
For this, you don’t need a large, open space. Any area will do, such as a corner in a room. Take advantage of natural light and choose an area near a window. You can even have the space look out to a garden for a beautiful view, or near a piece of art on the wall.
Transforming a Barre Room
You would need more space for a barre room, so any unused room in your home would do. If there is carpet, you would need to remove it and install hardwood floors or LVP (Luxury Vinyl). Once this is done, consider having floor to ceiling mirrors throughout the room to recreate the barre studio look. Lastly, you would need to install a ballet barre to the wall, which can be purchased from any home improvement store and can take less than half an hour to do.
An Open Pilates Room
A make-shift pilates room can be the answer to cutting down on expensive membership and fees. Like a yoga space, you don’t need to devote an entire room. Making use of your guest room could be a great way to use the space. If the room has a TV, you can follow along to pilates DVD’s for guidance. Equipment such as foam rollers and exercise balls can be stored in either the closet, or in a basket. A pilates room would also be best with hardwood floors, mimicking actual floors in a studio.
